Terendak is one of Melanau's most popular handicraft in Sarawak. Terendak also is one of cap or hat that is so unique which is to protect against sun heat. Terendak was first used as a heat and rain protector, especially for fishermen or farmers. For the Sarawak Malay community, the use of the Terendak head was once worn by those who became fishermen, who came down to sea to catch fish.
