Topi Matu is one of Melanau’s most popular handicraft in Sarawak. Topi Matu also is one of cap or hat that is so unique which is to protect against sun heat. Topi Matu was first used as a heat and rain protector especially for fisherman or farmers. For the Sarawak Malay community, the use of the Topi Matu head was once worn by those who became fisherman, who came down to sea to catch fish.
